Had an awesome Easter stay at this heritage hotel. the rooms were spacious and immaculately clean. the location was perfect with easy access to public transportation and key landmarks. We also enjoyed the complementary internet access and newspaper delivered right to our door.

The a single bed was comfy, and we appreciated the room. There is a good food option within 400 ft - the deck cafe. There's no complains at all, we would definitely return here.

Convenient location near a tram stop, and it's easy to explore the Central Business neighborhood. Lots of dining options nearby, like Beluga Cafe, only 10 minutes away. Don't forget to check it out! 🍽️

Friendly staff, intimate atmosphere, location (outside of busy city centre but not too remote), restaurant, architecture, amenities, proximity to public transport.

The hotel staff were great. I was not happy with our room because it was very small and the bed was a double and we are use to a king bed. When I asked for another room with a queen bed they were on it straight away and gave us a larger room with a king bed all for an extra $10 a night. Overall the stay at the Charsfield was a very pleasent experience.

what makes a 5 star hotel?? the one you feel at home and not the modern hotel factories. Here I felt at home cozy nice people and good kitchen and a lovely warm atmosphere. Will be back at my next stay in Melbourne. Kind regards,Gerard Verbeek

We had a fantastic stay at a charming hotel with a warm, friendly atmosphere. the location was ideal, being in the city center and close to the outlet shops of Bridge Road. We loved the spacious and clean deluxe room with high ceilings and timber floors. the staff were professional and always willing to help. We enjoyed the convenience of the frequent trams and the 100MB of free internet per day. A truly delightful experience.
The limited room service menu was a minor downside.

Very friendly personnel, great and luxurious atmosphere for a good price, close to city centre or at least very to get there by tram. It was worth the price.
We thought breakfast was a bit expensive for its value.

The location was incredibly convenient to transport. The ambiance was nice, the hotel was quiet. The staff were helpful.
The breakfast was uninspired for the price.

Great for the business traveller, I use this hotel whenever I am in Melbourne.
Breakfast is a bit expensive, plenty of choice on the street.

We live in the country and travel to Melbourne weekly for work and entertainment. We always stay at Hotel Charsfield for its convenient location, friendly service and good facilities. It is a charming old St Kilda Road mansion that has homely established 'Melbourne' feel to it. It has a good restaurant and we love the library / sitting room.

A very pleasant informal small hotel, excellently situated in relation to the city and transport. It was recommended by Tasmanian fiends and I am happy to recommend it to others.
The only problem we encountered was relatively minor - the how water took a long time to get to the tap and the shower was both feeble and extremely hard to adjust to the right temperature

Fantastic atmosphere because the hotel is an old mansion and the transformation to cater for the modern traveller is very successful, Our room was large and the queen bed super comfortable, We will definitely stay again and recommend to friends, Come to think of it, the charms of Charsfield should be a well kept secret!

The age of the building, the sitting room/billiard room and old dinning room. Location and ease of public transport is best.
Some noise between rooms due to age!
